Happy Monday everyone… I wanted to share a pic that someone sent me from my home town, New York. I am feeling pretty emotional because the picture of the second single is a picture taken the year my father took me to my first, Times Square movie. It was a film called Uptown Saturday Night, directed by Sydney Poitier… Anyway, the thought that some day I would also have movies showing in Times Square was always a dream I aspired to from the age of seven. What I didn’t think would ever be possible was that I would actually be able to sing for the world. Because you are all so damn supportive of everything I do, I was able to turn a year of Quarantine into a year of magic. Gracias. Thank you for always believing in me. I hope my life makes yours better… all love, always. #DaysAreGone #FeelLikeIDo #Smile…

My Godfather, who was the very definition of an artist, after waiting for me to come home to New York to spend his last moments… finally passed on… So grateful for your existence. I wouldn’t be who I am today without you. Rest In Peace……

As you all know I started acting when I was seven years old, and started bouncing in NYC when I was 17 to pay the bills. Failed the first time I came to Hollywood at 23 and then went back to NY to learn how to be a filmmaker because no one was giving me an opportunity to “make it”… I directed a short film called MultiFacial about a struggling multicultural actor trying to work in New York… I then came back to LA with my short film at 27 yrs old. At that time I would drive around with VHS copies of my short film in the trunk just in case I bumped into someone who could help me with my dreams. One day I was driving by the Four Seasons hotel when I saw one of my favorite actors walking into the hotel. Morgan Freeman… he was seriously one of my acting role models, I mean I remembered him from a show called Electric Company and always followed his career. This was my BIG chance, maybe I could after 20 years finally get noticed. So I pulled over, popped the trunk and ran after him to give him my short film… Sunday night, twenty something years later, he stopped me, and began telling me the whole story of that day in front of the Four Seasons. Wow. It was so surreal! That is the moment that is captured in the picture of my previous post. #followyourdreams…

The day he was born, Dwayne and I were filming a scene in Fast 5 and I left set to fly to New York in time to receive this blessing. Naturally he has a special bond with his Uncle Hobbs. #FastFamily #F8…

I started acting when I was seven years old in New York. Had a jump on the craft because the father that raised me was a theater teacher in Brooklyn. When I was a teenager I made money as a street fighter… For 100$ a night I protected club goers in NYC. Now I am receiving awards on behalf of the films I am apart of. My message to you is always follow your dreams… Despite where you are now. Speech in Bio. #believeinyou…
